Karl
Karl has been freelance illustrating for 11 years, sharing his “dynamically detailed” style with a-list clients such as ING, McDonalds, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Netflix, and more. Karl studied Industrial Design (BTECH) in South Africa and now resides in Berlin, Germany; however, he feels much more influenced by online artists and graphic novels than by the city he calls home. Some of Karl’s illustration heroes include Moebius, Hayao Miyazaki, Katsushiro Otomo, and Simon Stalenhag. While storyboarding is certainly his primary area of expertise, Karl is open to finished illustrations, concept design and AI generated artwork. If Karl weren’t an illustrator, he would either be a mycologist or a furniture maker.
